I does look dire, but remember these days it only has to be mediocre and to get fairly decent ratings for the BBC to make umpteen series of it and label it a 'classic'.

I suppose it proves that is are only a very limited number of themes
that are endlessly reworked, with varying degrees of inventiveness.

Agree absolutely about the 'Invasion' remake, BTW.
And what, exactly, is Chris Moyles for?

I'm hoping they will remake Monty Python with American black 'comedians' saying "Yo Bro, dis motherfuckin parrot is dead man" (2 minutes of canned laughter). Unfortunately, John Cleese would be all for it.
