"according to his autobiography, his most lucrative composition is his music for the Birds Eye frozen peas jingle, "Sweet as the moment when the pod went pop".

'My Music' was that rare thing, a programme that didn't
dumb-down, yet didn't condescend.

"a harmless drudge, that busies himself in tracing the original, and detailing the
signification...."

Funniest thing about My Music was Frank Muir's "singing". The whole prog was a clever way of bringing musical knowledge to a wide audience without teaching.

I once literally bumped into Steve Race on Tottenham Court Rd nearly 30 years ago. He tripped over an uneven paving stone and fell into me and a colleague. He was extremely apologetic - we told him he should sue the council at which he laughed, saying he doubted Ken Livingstone could afford it.

With little Patsy Kensit I believe, her first TV appearance. Obviously, her pod has been popped a few times since then, bless her.
