HBO

Post by Meatus »

Does anyone agree that they make the best show's that have ever been on TV?

Namely, The Sopranos, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight Of The Conchords, and even great mini-series such as Angels Over America,

why can't British stations make shows like these? When was the last time a British show was half as good as any of these?

Yeah i forgot about Band Of Brothers,

your right about Red Riding to, but that was just an adaption of David Peace's novels, and though great, its not a serial drama.

I wouldn't agree with you about Angels Over America the only one being good. The Soprano's and The Wire both have strong cases to being the greatest show's ever.

Though you are right when you say it's all subjective. Each to their own i guess, but you all most admit, Britain is sadly lacking in great TV shows

Excellent for the boxing as they cover pretty much every major US contest along with showtime

It probably comes down to budget.

Red Riding was only 3 eps long but the cost of having Sean Bean, Paddy Considine and David Morrisey for 12 would have put it beyond most uk channels.

On a side note did anybody see the Take on Sky with Tom Hardy. Not quite HBO standard but pretty good
