Daniella Westbrook to return to Eastenders...

I've seen the promo ads for this on tv this week. Daniella was never previously re-employed as her character Sam Mitchell in the show because of her 'personal difficulties', and they got another actress to play the part for a while. People may recall that Westbrook's nose fell off because of her habit of consuming vast quantities of the old 'white powder'. Bizarelly she remained a celebrity after leaving Eastenders, when so many ex cast members sink without a trace, solely because of her drug habit.

A couple of things I remember about her from over the years: one of her ex-husbands claimed that she only married him because 'Hello' magazine were giving her money, and she wanted the money to buy more cocaine. He also claimed that she once pawned their vacuum cleaner for money for her next fix. Second thing I remember was that the tv presenter Iain Lee, who used to present The Eleven O'Clock Show on Channel 4, really slagged her off one night on the programme. This resulted in some very serious threats being left on his personal voicemail by some tough sounding men, and Iain basically went into hiding for a few days - he was afraid to go home and stayed at an 'undisclosed location' for several nights.

So Danielle is not terribly chosey, or terribly principalled, in the things she will do for money, and she has some scary gangster friends. Not sure if she is someone I would like to know. What do people think about her return to Eastenders? I think re-employing her is NOT a good move on behalf of the show.
