Footballers: if not that what would they be doing?
I heard someone say on TV a while ago that if they werent playing football the vast majority of professional footballers would be in prison. What are people's views on this?
Re: Footballers: if not that what would they be doing?
Whenever my Dad sees Wayne Rooney on the TV that's exactly what he says. But he also says it about Ronnie O'Sullivan so not just footballers!
I don't think they'd necessarily be in prison but certainly not in million pound houses. We do seem to have a very high regard and place a very high value to exceptional foot co-ordination don't we?

It's a meaningless ie untestable proposition.

The most popular game on earth is very sell able commodity is why.. you cant balme them for what they earn(like they have the brains to even read their contracts thoroughly, alot of them!)......... on money, i think clubs should be forced to put a ceiling on wages eg make wages a percentage of income or sum such...... great story in news of world about an african chelsea player and what he does with his money .. a lesson for many there..

When asked "What would you be if you weren't a footballer" Peter Crouch famously replied "probably still a virgin..." !happy!

pimps or pushers I'd say and so knowing the Police's record on such matters I'd say they wouldn't make it to prison.
