Good old British Justice &how to deter offenders

Post by justincyder »

So I was in Court today, no I hadn't been naughty and I was listening to 1 case being dealt with, a disqualified driver who'd been stopped by police for driving whilst on his mobile.

So he was up for :

Driving on a mobile

Driving whilst disqualified

No Insurance by virtue of the fact he is disqualified.

Well the court took the view that this fellow clearly needed to be taught a lesson to ensure that he realised that being banned from driving is a serious matter and to ignore it and carry on driving will incur the wrath of the finest Justice system in the world.

So Mr Smithyou are herby fined ?60 and banned for 4 weeks to run concurrently with your ongoing ban (effectively at the same time ie pointelss)

Yes that taught him. No doubt he drove home.

So what do you think of that? No wonder the Police can't be bothered bringing people before the courts.

O and that wasn't a one off either, I was there all day and that was touching the tip of the iceberg.

That is terrible, I always thought that if you were caught driving while on a ban you would be jailed.

No your quite right but you have to be caught at least 5 times, so you work out a. the chance of being caught by the Police in the 1st instance compnarable to the number of times you commit the offence so roughly if you're caught 5 times you've probably committed the offence close to 200 times before you're sent down.

My other favourite of the day was a burglar with wait for it, 115 previous burglary convictions gettting, wait for it, a probation order, again.

1 count of burglary carries a maximum term of 15 years, this bloke is 32 years old with 115 convictions, you do the math.

o happy joy for you the ordinary law abiding citizen.

Thats outrageous-i read of so many burglars that also attack the householder, regardless of age or how frail, this makes my blood boil..I would treat ANY burglary as a much more serious offence than it cureently is...and who cares about "criminalising" someone? if your a criminal, you had free choice to do/not do whatever it was...... . some 89 yr old boy was robbed in his wheelchair this week by some scum..! what the fucks going on in uk PLC? The whole thing needs a complete over haul....................... !annoyed!

quite so sarah, you see the problem is with all the liberals stomping about demanding this that and the other, human rights for everyone hurrah! noone truly knows what is in fact reality behind all the newspaper headlines etc.

I suggest if you've ever got a day to yourself and nothing better to do, pop along to your local magistrates court and spend the day in the public viewing area. Its better than jeremy kyle.

A family member of mine was driving his work van with workmates accross a double roundabout.
He went accross when he saw that both where clear. At this point he was on the roundabouts and had right of way.
Then darting out from the left hand side of him comes an astra estate being driven by a woman.
She darets accross in front of him catching the bumper on his van. This then rips off her rear bumper.
He hots the brakes and stops, the astra carries on down the road dragging the bumper and carries on!!

So after a few seconds he carries on his journey.

A few days later he gets a knock on the door, its the police. They tell him he will have to goto court and is being nicked for driving away from the scene of an accident!!

He goes to court and gets 6 points and a ?400 fine for an accident he did not cause.

"cool!

I am in favour of public flogging with salt rubbed on the cuts and vinegar to wash it off.
6 dozen with a cat o nine tails knotted on the ends would make the bastards think twice before committing crime.

Many years ago before we had all day open pubs I was on the Isle of Man on adventure training whilst in the Army.
3 drunken Glaswegians caused a fight in a pub on Douglas seafront and smashed the place up.
The gendarmes rounded them up and put em straight in front of the duty beak who sentenced them to 6 strokes of the birch and immediate deportation off the island. They were birched and escorted straight away to the ferry terminal and chucked on the next ferry out.
They were banned from ever coming back. My cousin lived there for many years before he retired to Spain and he said all the trouble came from tourists. So, any tourist who gets in trouble anywhere I say, FUCKEM !!

I'm telling you ..the legal way to murder someone is to run them down in broad daylight in front of witnesses and when the police arrive just say this:

"Officer I dont know what happened but the steering wheel slipped in my hand"

They will test you for drugs and alcohol then you will get let off with a fine or maybe a few months in jail.

Better than pulling the trigger or knifing someone..Far too messy

Ok a bit pricey if you have to write off your car but depending on the person you are trying to kill, may well be worth it.

Well thats what ive picked up about driving offences and the law so far.
