I?m a single person and I drive a decent car (read mucho Co2) and on occasion a motorbike for an adrenalin rush. I turn the heating up when I get cold and I?m not too fussy about recycling (after taking great care to separate things before a trip to the skips, only to be told ?bung it in here, all the rest are full?).
I don?t have any kids and although I?m in a relationship now I think we?re past the breeding stage.
Personally I?m not too concerned about global warming. If I?m lucky, I have maybe another 30 years, so anything I do is not going to make much difference before I peg it.
Isn?t it about time we clamped down on the ?breeders?. Any time you see pictures of a third world country there are always plenty of children. How come they have plenty of energy for shagging and collecting free handouts (if any get past corrupt officials) but no energy to dig irrigation ditches or maybe move to a more fertile part of the country? This would involve great hardship I?m sure but I?ve had to travel a bit to make a living, why can?t they. We might have better infrastructure here but I believe ?where?s there?s a will there?s a way?. Maybe I was brought up to work for a living and not to rely on the state / handouts.
Before anyone starts I include wasters from developed countries as well.
Clobal warming
Re: Clobal warming
Typo should read Global warming
Re: Clobal warming
I think even the stupidest reader would have got the meaning even if mistyped.

What some people class as luxuries others class as necessities. I need my car to get to work ---- necessary. I could get a smaller car but the Co2 saving would be negligible.
I want to buy goods as cheap as I can. It might mean using child labour at 10p per day. I buy the goods, they get their 10p. Some do-gooder steps in to stop the exploitation and the child ends up with fuckall and starves. Am I evil ?

How did your grandad and great-grandad get to work?

No, just apathetic, which can be immoral. It's not 10p or starve though, is it? It could be 10p or a ?1, for instance.

They walked a few hundred yards. One went to a farm and one went to a harbour and then to sea.
Unfortunately my work is 13 miles away.
Do you suggest I get up 3 hours earlier and walk there and then walk back when I finish ?
Public transport is not an option due to their timetable and my work commitments.
So now I'm immoral because I'm generating an income for an otherwise starving child ?

I never said you were immoral, I said apathy can lead to immorality. Even when I stick up for you and say you're not evil you take it the wrong way!
As for your job: I can see why your car is very convenient, but it's still not a necessity. Being a taxi driver and having a cab is a necessity. The car just lets you have more sleep; it's just more convenient. I don't buy the necessity bit, that's all.
