Other than the Poll Tax riot in 1990, and I remember seeing the destruction in and around Trafalgar Square the next day on my way to work, I can't think of any riot that has ever made the Government change its policies. The thing today was only a half-riot anyway.

If they do not protest, tuition fees will soon be as high as in the US...
Not very encouraging for people to get a higher education then.
