Dear forumites,
For those of you, fortunate enough to live in England, one of the best countries in the world, if you
1. Don't like the idea of EU competition law being brought into NHS service commissioning which may force your local hospital into bankruptcy.
2. Don't like the idea that GPs will be able to double their incomes, partly by rationing your health care, as a result of Lansley's Health Care bill

Then join the British Medical Association which represents gps themselves, the Royal College of Nursing and all other professional bodies that represent NHS workers and are opposed to this bill by registering your protest.

Re: NHS
GP's were raking in ?100000 a year long befoire the Coalition. Management also earning a fortune and I seem to recall the complete desruction of NHS dental care during the" halcyon" days of New Labour.
You can whitewash all you want, but some of us have not forgotten the total incompetance of the last bunch of clowns in power.

Do pay attention Jimbo
Jimbo,
Try to respond to the content of a post rather than go off at a tangent.
"GP's were raking in ?100000 a year long befoire the Coalition."
If you had bothered to read the link I provided, it includes a breakdown of how gps pay could go up to ?300000 under Lansley's bill. A tripling of pay is rather a substantial increase.
"I seem to recall the complete desruction of NHS dental care during the" halcyon" days of New Labour."
Complete destruction. Bilge. New Labour had a poor record on this. I agree. Perhaps you could tell me what the current government has done about this in their first year in power?
"You can whitewash all you want, but some of us have not forgotten the total incompetance of the last bunch of clowns in power."

Calm down dear!
So have you got any view worth mentioning on Lansley's Health bill then? That after all is the subject of this thread. Not that the subject of the thread has ever had much connection with your posts.
Do try to live in the now Jimbo. You have just built up the courage to come back onto the forum after flouncing off two or three weeks ago. So don't spoil it for yourself and get all worked up again.
Remind me now, was that the 32nd or 33rd time you've flounced off from the forum promising never to return because you were too busy/sick of talking politics/its all bollocks anyway/I'm a member of the Raving Loonies/ I hate them all/slot another explanation in here?
!wink!
Cheers

Re: NHS
Even Kelvin MacKenzie, hardly a Labour supporter, has just admitted on Question Time that the NHS greatly benefited from and was improved by, the last government.
