Thanks to everyone (especially Dave67 and joe king for the links) who offered help lower down the board on the subject of multi-region dvd players and enabling them to play American DVDs.

A quick tinker with the set-up of my machine via the remote control and Pulp Fiction burst into life - a Royale With Cheese to you all!!
