Watched the first episode of this adaptation of the novel on BBC2 tonight.

Great acting, fantastic sets and the lighting was just, just amazing. It was like looking at a Caravaggio painting brought to life.

BBC at its best is way above anything else . Shame they have scraped the barrel in the last few years with garbage like Saints and Scroungers.

Missed it but will download off i.player. Pity we have to put up with garbage like Graham Norton on his massive salary instead of high class drama...
