Just watched this on the Blue One triple feature disc, where it appears under the title Les Bons coups (there is another film from the 1990s listed here under the same title).

I couldn't find a synopsis anywhere online, so i wrote my own:

Guy Royer is shy around women, and fumbles his attempt to pick up Diane Dubois on the street. But his roommate Joel Charvier succeeds with her, and takes her home. Guy follows them into the apartment, and then joins them in a threesome, ending in a DP.

Joel takes Guy to see Erika Cool for some lessons in how to pick up women. He practices his phone skills on Erika's maid, Morgane -- who Guy doesn't realize is just down the hall -- while Erika sucks him off. Joel joins Morgane and soon there is a fourway.

With Erika's encouragement, Guy approaches a woman on the street (Celine Gallone) and goes home with her. They are making it on the couch when her parents arrive and try to force him to marry her, but Guy runs away.

Guy goes back to the apartment and finds Joel with Erika and Morgane. After joining them briefly, he goes to the window, hands Erika a pair of binoculars and tells her to pick a woman in the building across the street for him to seduce. She spies Gallia vacuuming through one of the open windows, and picks her. Somehow they find her in the phonebook, and Guy calls her up. He smooth talks her; soon she is masturbating and he gets her to place the key under her doormat. He enters her apartment, waves to his cheering friends from the open window and joins Gallia in bed.

For Guy's final test, Erika picks a random woman on the street (Marie-Dominique Cabannes) and Guy approaches her. He takes her back to Erika's place and the films ends with a hot fiveway, Marie-Dominique getting a DP from Guy and Joel.

I'm told that there is a German version of this film titled Denn sie wusste nicht was sie tat, which runs 77:48. The edited version on Blue One is only 59:27.

I searched online, but the only evidence i found was an old auction at filmundo.de that indicates it was released by Beate Uhse.

I have the english version called "caresses" which runs at 85'.

Here are the Blue One DVD covers, the original Alpha France VHS cover and the American (Caballero) release as "Caresses". The girl on the Caballero cover is not in the film, and the names (except for "Erika Kool") are fake.

There is not only one Alpha France video cover of CARESSES INVAVOUABLES. Alpha France has distributed about 4 or 5 successive waves of VHS, each with distinctive badges, logos, and sometimes different picturial material for the same movie, even if pictures are always coming from the presented movie.

About CARESSES INAVOUABLES, Secam VHS of the integral version ( mark shannong is making the shadow of a doubt coming to my mind) must be timed at 75 minutes, and the PAL video master presented on the triple-bill Blue One DVD is only 59 min. 25 sec.
