'Gil' is a male forename.
The female Dominique's surname is spelled slightly differently.
If you have evidence that the name Dominique Saint Clair [or orthographic
variants thereof] has never been associated with the male actor above I'm sure
we'd all like to see it.

Dominique Saint Clair (however it is spelled) is an alias for
Gil Lagard?re, who is definitely a male. In fact he is usually credited as Dominique S-C (I'm using of 'S-C' to avoid spelling errors myself), but because of the confusion with the female Dominique S-C, I chose, initially, if I remember correctly, to make his main name Gil Lagard?re, but this was later changed.
Dominique can be a male name or a female name. The late Dominique Aveline has sometimes been listed as a female in (usually American) credits (which sometimes also refer to Gabrielle (!) Pontello). Both male Dominiques appeared in
Les Petites Ecoli?res along with two female Dominiques - C?line (aka Dominique) Gallone and Marilyn Jess aka Dominique Troyes.

If I remember correctly, 'Gil' was how it appeared in the credits to one of his films. Of course porn credits are notorious for incorrect usage, especially in English, especially in British porn and especially with regard to the inappropriate presence or absence of the apostrophe.
