Il Marito (1993)

Post by Len801 »

IL MARITO
(RAFFINEMENTS PERVERS)
(1993)

My notes from the VMD French dubbed version released at the time.
The credits (with the exception of the French title) were left in their original
Italian text. They read:
Simona Valli, Cristof Clarck, Giulia Chanel, Valeria Verde
I am not sure whether there were other names credited but I did recognize
the black US actress Venus (aka Persia) and French blonde actress Maeva.
There were several other males in an orgy scene which I did not recognize.

There was an initial brief bj on a helicopter (possibly Simona Valli)
who is blowing Christophe while he is piloting the helicopter.
scene 2: Simona Valli, Giulia Chanel , C. Clark
(3) Giulia Chanel (anal), Valy Verdi (anal), C. Clark
(4) G. Chanel, C. Clark (set outdoors)
(5) set indoors: G. Chanel, C. Clark and several males (Chanel engages in bj
and handjobs on the males)
(6) G. Chanel, young handsome dark-haired male (set on a couch)
(7) G. Chanel, Venus, Barbara Doll (lez scene)

I did some web searches and notice that there is a an Italian version
called IL MARITO LIBIDINOSO
box cover:
screencaps:

One other thing. The Italian credits showed the name of "Toni Montana" as
director, while it is widely believed it was directed by Max Belllocchio.
I do not recall seeing this name (Toni Montana) in other movies of the time
(although IAFD does show Toni Montana as being an alias of Max Bellocchio).

Sorry I just noticed I indicated "Barbara Doll" in lesbo 7th scene, whereas
it should have read Maeva.

Sorry to keep adding comments.
On AVN there is a review of US release (1995) of this movie by Midnight
called THE HUSBAND

And I have just discovered that IAFD a two separate entries for this title
as "HUSBAND" and "MARITO LIBIDINOSO"

Thanks JJ.
But I noticed you did not make any changes as to director`s name, and other alternate titles
(IL MARITO LIBIDINOSO, THE HUSBAND).

That's because I'm still trying to work out what the original studio was-
you'll have noted none was cited in the earlier entry.

Might be able to give my two cents on the title variations.
The original VHS was most likely IL MARITO, as I did searches of that movie years ago and that
was all I found. EGAFD also shows that same title.
The DVD reissue title was IL MARITO LIBIDINOSO (see the link in my post above)
The movie was released in the USA by Midnight in 1995 as THE HUSBAND.
I was not able to determine who was the distributor for the original (VHS) Italian version. I had
worked on a Simona Valli filmography back in 2004 and even then I was not able to track down that
info or original box cover.

Had trouble finding anything on that....

The entry will have to stand as-is, then.

Except for that AVN review I was not able to locate any other info about
that US release.
Quite possibly because Midnight Video was not really a big heavy player in porn at the time.
I think they started out small around 1991 and became a bit more active in the mid 1990's
If you look through their titles in IAFD, you will see that their movies
were not really blockbusters or heavy hitters.

Quite likely this release did not do well for them, and quickly disappeared (a lot of their titles
of that period are nearly all out of print).
And lastly IL MARITO is a ghastly mediocre movie, made quite likely on the cheap.
Giulia Chanel is practically in all the scenes and overused. A couple of scenes set in
a open limousine parked outside the mansion are dreadful. The scenes in the limousine go from
bright to dark, indicating that they started shooting near evening and it got protracted
into the night and either they should have moved indoors or put up some light to
light up the scene.
The only real saving grace in the movie was the third scene
(3) Giulia Chanel (anal), Valy Verdi (anal), C. Clark,
but not much for Chanel who in other movies seemed to be a bit more "animated", but Valy Verdy.
Of course also on the negative side you have the eternal presence of C. Clark, who resorts
to his usually tricks of continuously pulling his dick in and out of a girl's
orifice.

IIRC the JC 'seduction' scene with the young boy was watchable, too- but
yes, overall ruined by a surfeit of Mr Egomaniac Bendycock.

I know these things were shot in less than an afternoon- but that's no
excuse for not trying to disguise the fact.
