The Police are still watching you!
The Police are still watching you!
I've just read an article in a local(ish) paper which goes like this.
"A North Devon husband who video'd his wife and a teenage girl for a fetish internet site was jailed for 6 months by Exeter Crown Court.
Ross McKinnon of Barnstaple and the females were convicted of conspiracy to publish an obscene article.
McKinnons wife Anne and Kirsty Hill, now 20 (19 at the time) were each given community service orders".
Just goes to show that you might think that the relevant authorities have taken a back seat but when they want to they can still hammer you.
P.S. Obviously they could have been doing something highly illegal but it makes no mention of such in the article.
Oh and if I have broken the rules of this site by naming names that were in the article then I apologise to the moderaters and understand if you remove my post.

I'm sure that law enforcement authorities in the UK observe those websites that they deem perversely unfit. But could that even mean BGAFD !!
David Blunkett has now made it a criminal offence to send Emails containing ultra-obscene sexual references. The EU passed a new law last week which gives national police forces across the continent the right to monitor ANYBODY'S Emails. So does this mean that ordering H/C movies or enquiring about Bukkake parties and escort services will now be viewed with suspicion ? I hope not.
Yes, sicko paedophiles should be monitored. But unfortunately these new laws could very easily taint those of us who enjoy viewing mainstream adult material on the internet.
Your opinions please?

Re: The Police are still watching you!
Having had a couple of experiences of being busted for producing/selling/distributing "obscene material" I can tell you that the penalties are financial, not custodial (unless you don't pay the fines).
Either more to it "teenage girl?" in which case it is bad reporting, or other offences not necessarily related were involved.

Re: The Police are still watching you!
Yeah, we can all agree about 'sicko paedophiles', but this can be an excuse for legislation that affects lots of other people.
Not many people have noticed that the latest proposals from Fuhrer Blunkett include a new law against people paying under-18s for sex. Yes, I do mean under-18s, not under 16s. So it would be legal to have sex with a consenting 16 or 17-year-old (as the age of consent would still be 16) but illegal, and punishable with up to 7 years in prison, to pay for it. So if you are lucky enough to have a 16 or 17-year-old girlfriend (alas, I'm not), make sure you never buy her a present!

Re: The Police are still watching you!
As far as mateys sentence goes, he was either lacking necessary release paperwork; the girl was underage; the server was based in the UK (the most likely, given the 'publishing obscene materials' charge).
As far as the RIP act is concerned, the Data Protection people are about to issue new guidelines to companies informing them just how heavily they can monitor things. The ISP association has told the government to sod off when it comes to monitoring email traffic, due to the DP Act (not double penetration).
Basically, the only people who really have to be afraid are the messers, and rightly so. The chances of being hunted down by the rozzers for producing adult material where you have all the right paperwork (incl BBFC) are so slim, it ain't true. The Met have *no* money to pursue that sort of thing, and they know full well that the CPC will laugh them out of court and not pursue the matter.
Funds are being directed to attack messers, but if you're trying to sell illegal adult tapes, you could still face the high jump. It just isn't worth it.

Re: The Police are still watching you!
It does clearly mention that the girl was 19 when the pics were taken although only after the term " teenage girl" had been placed there first.
I totally agree with you that the term "teenage girl" was put there to bring attention to the article.
Re: The Police are still watching you!
Hmm, depends what the girl looked like also Eduardo. Hell, some girls in this industry are in their mid-20's but still look like they could be teenagers. If the police saw the tape and her age looked questionable, this gives them all the right to act on it. Remember Fred and Rose West? You just can't tell these days. I agree with JMS webmaster man though, it's more likely he was nabbed cos his website was registered in this country. That word usage of teenager. When are people gonna learn it's a fine line between legal and illegal.
Whoops, typed that dreaded word teenagers. There's a knock at the door already. Fuck me that's quick! Gotta make my escape through the back d....

Re: The Police are still watching you!
...And don't post here using the name Gary Glitter either. Or you're in for it.
Re: The Police are still watching you!
I stand corrected, did not see the age reference -"19 at the time". Stand by my original observation.
As for you, OEJ, you should be fucking ashamed of yourself posting this righteousness when you have been exposed as associating with a Gay Pirate (which is bad enough) but now, HHHC!!!
I posted a warning yesterday about this latter henious crime and trust that it was heeded by fellow Protectors of Moral Values. ( My new political party) -PROMOV
