I should have had that idea before...
Mika & Alice = Two girls sounding (to me) as british as George Formby--
but thanks Christ not looking like him-- ha ha ha !grin!

Only in a World War could anyone have found him entertaining - "misery loves
company". I believe at one point a plan was hatched to force the Axis to
surrender by threatening to parachute him into Berlin. The Americans had a
similar scheme involving the Japanese and the Andrews Sisters.

Thanks.

It may not have been the most appealing choice in this context.
No, I could not even dare to rate him funny or not, for I think
he is so british (at least to someone like me) that only brits
can tell if he is/was any good....

Same with some "ultra-german appealing" guys like Oliver Kahn.
Many rate him as "Typical german" and maybe they are right... in a way.

Still, I feel no connection to him at all.
Like you do not with George Formby for sure...

Silly comparison, I know... !clown! Maybe I just loved to have
THIS FACE featured here, for a little fun.... !blush!

For a moment I thought it might be a case of the German sense of humour -
witness their love for the (to me, execrable) Mr Bean; and the annual Xmas
outing for Freddie Frinton's 'Dinner for One' : -)

No, don't worry: We krauts got no sense of humor at all... !grin!

Still "Black Adder" and "Monty Python's Flying Circus" are nothing
but brilliant, IMHO....

I love the dry humour of Germans (WWII Luftwaffe pilot to RAF counterpart:
"sorry I missed you on 17th June 1940"), but cannot understand the fondness
for slapstick.

It's funny you know german stuff I never heard of!

This "joke" is pretty edgy, I guess...
So, this might be appealing by taking a loan (without being flattering)
on that dry-humor we sense to be british...
(Like: Resteraunt-sketch; Monty Python)

As there is no humor in Germany, except some regional-greats (regarded)
and the world-famous but totally crappy "Bavarian Volks-Theater-Stadl Humor"
(Peter Steiner etc ...)... some clich?s ring true... !sad!
