Hi guys just finishing off the first test porn site, xstreamheat doing the payment gateways and got some great ways to pay etc....I am playing with the idea of charging per scene as appart from RGB I don't know anyone that wanks for 2 hours. The idea would be to pay ?1 per tug.....this is DVD quality on demand so you dont need to download and work out a day in advance if you fancy a tug..also its 24x7 the set-top box is on way we just came back from IBC and have deffinate route with all this and at least 4 companies have a working box on WMV...Ours is here working and I expect it to be ready for consumers within 2 months, the middleware is all that needs finnished and that should be strait forward.
Anyway guys need some views etc on the ?1 to pump pricing,

If your product's really that good, sell on quality... don't forget you have to pay affiliates and content owners (if you want decent content), plus running costs, and still keep yourself in the style to which you've become accustomed.

I gather this is a completely different concept from a conventional website. You view on your television through a set top box and you don't see all the "mechanics" of the internet. It is being developed alongside mainstream local internet protocol TV stations from where advertising links can be created to specialist channels. So the usual format of affiliates doesn't apply. Phil mCc of course has been a producer for 20 years and has his own content. Programs can also be transmitted live by using real time WMV encoding and high speed uplinks.

Sure is RGB, I thought a quid was a good deal for the punters and whether they view on TV or PC will make no difference. As it goes RGB and the other techies we have a WiFi box on test so you can have 4 boxes in your house with one transmitter, or 40 in a hotel all on 1, 8meg connection. As for payment it similar to Sky in some parts, you can use a pay centre to buy top-up vouchers ie a tenners worth onto you account using a pin number so for those who don't like credit cards etc they can still watch. each time you choose to watch a movie it takes the correct payment, so something like a brand new release should be about ?3-?4, watching a scene shot live with text interaction with producer could be available at a tenner. Again no difference between TV or PC...The set-top boxes will range from ?40 to ?300 depending what you want to do and some can record if the DRM allows. We hope some of the bigger companies will give a box for free, based on subscription....and the box can travel with you, anywhere you get a broadband connection.....

Still working on this pricing stucture..does anyone use this reverse SMS service it seems expensive...we have about 60 scenes on the first channel Xstreamheat and trying to keep the prices to the same as Global/Blockbuster rentals. Its worth rembering this is streaming so you only wait a few seconds before you pull, and at a quid a pump can't be bad. We have around 500 movies to add but its gonna take time to cut them into Scenes otherwise we can just charge per movie but it does not go with the theme. As for saving it and watching it later, most of the cheap set-top boxes wont have hard drives and the idea is its a TV style service. With streaming at 4000-8000kbs a reality the quality on a TV is better than SKY.

Funny enough we had the head of new media at the BBC here last Wed,,,,in his words we are a year ahead and is recommending us to the 67 independent compaies who supply Manchester BBC,
We have the first site up now is is simple and easy, I will migrate it onto www.xstreamheat.com tommorow so we can demo it....at a ?1 a scene we can make money and the punters will love it, just like the booths in Amsterdam or the video juke-box down the pub, no one will grudge a ?1.....
