What's the point ... anybody into things of a 'dubious' nature never uses a real emai address, when @yahoo / @hotmail are free to use and dispose of.

Name and shame to who? More like people will get in touch with them for passwords too.

Password crackers use a "wordlist" of hundreds if not thousands of user/passes combos. They load this into a program with proxies and hit go basicly which bombards your server with a dictionary attack looking a valid user/pass combo. If a match is found and you have no protection there into your members area. Any member who uses a weak user/pass such qwerty:asdfgh will be easier to crack rather than a member using f7$3Saq^:ui0@hVe3 so the member has not shared there user/pass... Someone else has "cracked" it so emailing the member won't help. Usually once the cracker has had there fun they either keep it to thereself or pass it on to a password board which is where you B/W will soar.
