recommend me a host

So far im thinking about Webair. Anyone got any othersworth a look at, preferably US based?

Quite a few of us in the UK use They have someone in support on ICQ 23.5/7

SGD was hacked on a Sat night and the server was brought down at the old host. Less than 24 hrs later the site was being uploaded there, and was live again within hrs. They then spent a week helping me do all the tweaking needed to save the hacking happening again.

There are a lot of mixed reports about Webairs support, most of it being bad...

They have a tkt system but I use ICQ 99.99% of the time as support is rarely needed

Sorry no real phone support... Kevin who runs it may help you on the phone when you're getting started if he's around.. I was lucky and caught him at lunch on the east coast and an hr later.. he set me up and I started uploading while we were still chatting, but that was a favour for another UK wm who recommended me to them and because of my situation

Powerstorm look pricey, also they only offer small storage space. Top plan advertised on the site is 8 gig webspace for 900 USD a year, if you want more with them it looks like you got to go for dedicated server. With DWHS.com you can get 20 gig webspace for same price as powerstorm charge for 8.

Not heard anything negative about powerstorm yet whereas a few folks say dwhs support isn't brilliant, but powerstorm just look a rip off to me.

Powerstorm are without a doubt a great hosting firm , nominated two yrs in a row for xbiz award , and no way a rip off, their support is second to none and i have used them for the last three years without any problems at all.

I use powerstorm and highly recommend them.

They are not expensive by any stretch of the imagination. At the end of you day you get what you pay for, if you see excessive bandwidth and space offered by cheaper hosts its because they hope they attract inexperienced webmasters who don't actually use much space and bandwidth. And when you do start to use it their servers can't handle it and they ask you to leave. Trust me I've been there.

Powerstorm have very reliable servers both dedicated and shared. Even on the shared ones they don't oversell and have enough resources to cope with traffic surges.

Their support is excellent and there is always somebody available to get help from. They also go the extra mile and help you with stuff that most hosts would not bother with such as helping you intstall scripts etc.

I've had far worse support of hosts that were more expensive.

I think the posts in support of Powerstorm slightly over ride your thoughts. As for storage... I used mine up months ago and gave them a call.. Their answer.. no probs as you have plenty of space and I haven't been charged one cent more for the extra gigs I use. I've upgraded my hosting 3 times in just under a year due to my needs, as I'm slowly moving all my domains over there and now have five domains on my server with quite a few more to go. They're all heavy traffic and I've not had one complaint about them running slowly

In fact it was UK Guru who put me in touch with them, and I owe him a drink and a half for that
