Hi
I'm setting up a website of my own, and I had a few questions. How do I go about setting up my company as a business I can't find anything relevant on the net. I want to use ccbill to do the ccard processing but it need business proof. Since the company will be solely myself I wondered if I could put myself as a sole trader. Any help guys? or gals?

Re: website advice
If your setting up a legitimate business then either set up a a sole trader or a fully limited company.
I would recommend you set some form of company up, as if the tax man comes knocking and you havent been declaring your earnings from your site/s you can get in the shit for it. Alot of people have been caught by this.

I'm fairly sure if they took porn off the internet, there'd only be one website left, and it'd be called Bring back the porn!

no i planned to do that just wasn't sure exactly how to go about it. Most sites I saw were for a existing company going online where as we want to start an online company with only one director and no staff.
Re: website advice
Go the the companies house website
www.companieshouse.gov.uk
Regisitering a company costs ?20
You must make sure your company name is not been used by anyone else. If it is close to another company name companies house may ask you to change your bussiness name.
For a limited company with a single owner you need a Director and a Secretary. They cannot be the same person.
You need a registered company address.
They only legal stuff you really need to do is send in your accounts once a year. Inform companies house of any changes: eg Company address, Director, ECT. These normally cost you money.
As for CCbill. As far as I can see they are now asking that you are a company, but you can always email them to ask.
