Models please give more info about yourselves

I find it quite frustrating that a lot of models who advertise themeselves on this forum and other forums just don't give the most basic information about themeselves which I need. The most important information that I need to decide if I can or want to film a model is:

1) The model's location. Where do you live? Just the city or town is all I need. This is very important information for me as I'm limited to only being able to film local models to me, and often I can only do 3 hour shoots.

2) One or two photos of yourself.

Any other information for me is a bonus, but I'm sure some other photographers will be looking for other information such as your rates, your levels, ect...

I've stopped e-mailing models now to ask for this most basic information ( where they are based and some photos of themselves). It should be provided by the model who is advertising herself. I'm sure a lot of other photographers feel the same... I'm sure I've missed out on filming some good models because of this. And of course a lot of models will have missed out on getting more shoots because I'm sure that a lot of other photographers feel the same as me on this subject.

Hi Emily - I'm based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. I do most of my filming in Sheffield but I am also interested in filming models in their own homes when possible, but only within South Yorkshire really at the moment as I don't drive and I don't really have enough spare time to travel too much at the moment.

I totally agree with you Marlowe, but perhaps it isn't a bad thing as after all it lets us know who not to work with (if they can't put the effort into adding pictures and important details to adverts and emails looking for work, then it's odds on that they'd put the same lack of effort into any shoot they were booked for).

One of the reasons I've changed AIR so that models now display according to the date of last edit of their entry.

You can assume that new/recently updated are for models who are currently keen.

It's ok saying that but when models are keen they just seem to get timewasters like i'm getting at the moment!!!

No offence intended, but your recent advert on here looking for work suggests otherwise.

There are no pictures to show what you look like, no mention of your nationality (important if photographers/producers have a requirement for only British models), no stats, no details of whether you've got any tattoos etc. Exactly the type of post that Marlowe is talking about, it gives the impression of someone who just wants paying and isn't prepared to put any effort in. That may not be so, you may be a fantastic model who gives 100% on her shoots, but sadly I for one looked at your post and thought otherwise.

I'm waiting to get some more pics done that're better than the ones i have, as 9 times out of 10 when i arrive for a shoot they say i look nothing like the pics!
