Looking up pics of Tawnee Stone on google, who I know is over 18, I keep getting lots of warnings up like the following:
The government has installed BLACK BOXES into ISPs to watch your Internet surfing. When you are targeted, the first you will know is the KNOCK AT YOUR DOOR and the JAIL SENTENCE. If you think you have cleaned your computer - you are WRONG. They can recover from your PC every single picture or item you have ever watched on the Internet. You need protection. You need an Evidence Eliminator.
These things are very precise about when and where I looked up stuff. Are they just scarying us into buy evidence elimating software or would someone really take it seriously and "KNOCK AT YOUR DOOR"? Is this exploiting the ignorant?
Bill
(ignorant)
OT: You're being watched etc.
Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
I am of the understanding that Windows allows certain details of your system to be released for whatever purposes Microsoft requires. Perhaps the pop-up contains script which accesses this information.
Any further info on the subject would be greatly appreciated by all users i feel.
But to answer your question directly - i believe they're manipulating the paranoid for their own financial gain.
I'm more than happy for anyone to oppose this view because it's a topic which needs an objective view.

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
it's just spam/scamware - it's a common enough thing for porn sites to include pop-ups that hawk 'eliminator' software because
they play on people's paranoia about the porn they're surfing.
The RIP Act in this country has proposed that ISPs keep email and browsing histories for a number of years, but there are huge
arguments about privacy issues and who will pay for the equipment, therefore 'black boxes' have not (AFAIK) been installed/activated
(as yet!!!)

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
Some searching via google found this link:
It's a site run by a Mr Eric Lee Green who seeks to "out" the makers/backers of EvidenceEliminator as fraudulent.
Follow the two links near the middle of the page for an interesting insight into how EvidenceEliminator do what they do.
Another interesting point is this: search for evidence eliminator in google, follow the link it provides and read the little pop-up it displays for you...Based on that, i subscribe to Mr Green's point of view.

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
This is just a nasty attempt to get you to buy a crap product.
2 important points:
The ONLY SURE way to eliminate the evidence on your hard disk is to apply a sledgehammer to it. I'm not joking.
Considering that porn is one of the largest users of bandwidth on the www, unless you are downloading child pornography, the authorities have no interest in you.

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
Thank you. It is scary, isn't it? And petty.
Cheers for making me feel a little safer. All Iwant is pictures of Aria Giovanni's arse, that can't be reason enough to put me in jail!

A noble aspiration indeed.
Don't worry Bill. If they lock people up for that, there won't be anybody left outside to do the work, pay the taxes, lock the prison gates, etc. etc..

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
...not paranoid, then Bill.
Just for folks information, if you think you HAVE deleted any pics saved in the past, try doing a search with Windows for 'any pictures' - you'll be amazed at what is supposed to be deleted but is still stored without your knowledge. Make a note of the file address, and delete again, that usually sorts it. Also, remember that any viruses detected from porn sites (and others) will certainly be logged by your antivirus program, with site addresses. Then there's Cookies and Internet History, both of which should be regularly cleared manually to ensure your site visits remain private - especially if others use the same computer.
The people listening through the walls told me to write this.

Re: OT: You're being watched etc.
Ignore it
Its like those...this program will make your internet surfing faster...waste of time and money
Unless you are surfing and downloading kiddie pics then there is no immediate threat.
I'm of the belief that everything we do is captured and stored
in a databank somewhere.Big brother is alive and well make no mistake.Try running for politics and see how quickly this harmless activity comes to light. Its only when you seek to become more powerful that this info becomes relevant
A program called Eschelon apparently collects electronic signals
worldwide 24 hours a day 7 days a week
