Very cool move to nominate ITV for an award, certainly helps to get the coverage.

But looking at the nomination lists, considering so much of adult is now internet based, am amazed to see the internet not covered in any nominations.

this may not be the thread to ask this question but can anyone tell me if the nominations for the Awards show pertain to RELEASED WORK ONLY or does it matter if none of your work has ever been released commercially to be considered for a Nomination ?

"Her latest nomination, however, may not be quite so prestigious: Best soft core production at the UK Adult Film Awards."

If you read it carefully you can clearly see the contempt for us coming through loud and clear.

So in the desperate and fruitless bid to get, "Media attention" all the poor sods like me who have made literally hundreds of soft-core productions over the years, are dumped down the toilet, on a whim.

It makes you want to puke, if we aren't going to support each other, then who is? Certainly not the mainstream media!

Does look a bit like a cynical attempt to get a bit of extra coverage and make some extra dosh. Hopefully Mr Black will have sorted out extra security for the event to deal with the nutters who will undoubtedly turn up due to the extra coverage.
Jim really does have a good point that the industry blokes seem to have been very much snubbed for
"the desperate and fruitless bid to get, "Media attention""
Mr Cremona also raises a good point. Will stuff that hasnt been released be eligible for an award ?

Firstly well done for generating so much publicity what a coup, but Jim is so very right with his comment ?you can clearly see the contempt for us coming through loud and clear.?

Be very careful when courting the mainstream media and especially so if they approach you. A few years back we were approached by a team from Channel 4 asking us to participate in a documentary about porn in Britain. (We specialize in genuine amateur content) They promised us the earth plus tons of free publicity and they promised to feature our site domain name in the film. They told us they would be making the documentary from the point of view of changing public attitudes and that it would be a positive program about the adult industry in the UK. Well I advised my colleagues not to get involved so we didn?t. When the program came out firstly they made it almost impossible for viewers to actually identify and get to the web sites they featured, then they did an amazing hatchet job on virtually everyone who agreed to take part. I?m sure most of the people in this forum saw it. A 4 part series called the dark side of pornography. It certainly wasn?t positive or open minded. That?s what you can expect from the mainstream media probably for the foreseeable future, because they will always jump at the chance to sensationalize any subject matter that can be portrayed in that way. I don?t include the minor and satellite channels.
