Is this the end of paid porn on the net?

As anyone who has delt with titanic knows we have never allowed our product to be downloaded on the net.
We looked into it but due to the lack of control over our material and low payments and the reliance on honesty we never took this avenue.
In the last few days we have had a tech guy here who has shown us how bad the net has become for theft
You have the usual password theft,the spoof sites etc but now we have the mass growth of Bitxxxxxx sites and sites like RAPxxxxxxe that allow people to uplaod and share dvds pictures webcams you name it
The worst part of it all is some of them charge and dont give a damm who owns the rights to the material
Most of the big players on this forum will be fully aware of this and can ride it out as they have no other option
So my advice to any new produers is simple think twice about using the net to allow product to be downloaded
Look at FC not seen his product available to download anywere and still going strong
If you are a producer and want to see if your material is being given away free get in touch and I will whow you were to look
As for Titanic we are still busy shooting and will continue to supply our content on dvd only

I understand where you are coming from... but at the same time all it takes is one DVD to be ripped and put on a torrent site and you're screwed.

In simple terms... if you dont want it copied and ilegally downloaded then dont publish it in any media format.

heck... i still remember fondly my first ilegal VHS copied tape of porn. But back then it was a case of it was the only way to get hold of hard core porn...

Nowadays if i want porn... theres even a free pay site to get it... and after a while it all becomes much of a muchness.

That said... I do think that something different is always good... which is why I love the "readers wives" stuff in mags and porn producers that push the bounderys or BDSM that spans sex and fetish... if shes tied up fuck her, thats what would happen in a real life bdsm couple... not 20 mins of wax dripping and flogging... bdsm is a sexual thing, so why pretend otherwise!

Sorry went off topic there... being invlolved in photography, swinging, and the bdsm comunities it just gets on my tits!

What ever format you release in... it will get copied and posted everywhere if it is good. Heck if you realeased for cinema only there would be some guy with a HD cam recording it and posting it within 5 mins of showing if it was a good porn.

Yeah Titanic. If only the world governments paid as much attention to the copy right theft of most media rather than imposing new laws such as the criminal justice and immigration bill we might have a bit more success.

No doubt they wil do something about it when most producers cant afford to pay their 40% corporate tax.

Dont be too sure about the FC stuff. I've seen links on a few fan based forums. Nothing is out of the reach of people sharing. You just have to know where to look to find it.

It seems a lot of people make more of an effort to rip something and invest the time uploading than buy anything

Besides, as long as its available for free why would anyone want to pay anything for it? We've had good success with kind words than go in with all guns blazing.

I also believe there are still plenty more people happy to pay for it that you'll end up seeking counselling if you had to chase every fucker who stole your stuff. You'd never get any work done for fighting all the time.

I think somethings gotta give before long because porn is only the half of it, when the big boys in mainstream saddle up their posses thats when something will be done about it but I think it has to get a lot worse before anyone really acts.

Lets face it, if the governemnt really wanted to shut it down, it would be shut down. Imagine if someone did a loa dof free kiddie porn or some shit like that, the powers that be would be in their like fucking dam busters so it goes to show something can be done if they really wanted to.

Welcome to the digital age! There's lots of truth in all the posts. Even on dvd you are not safe, rip it then bit torrent it, share it, it's free!

The internet has been good for the porn buying public. No longer do they get rippped off at ?40 - ?50 for a DVD when in the states you can buy them for $20. Still too expensive in the UK I feel.

Physical adult DVD sales are in decline because of the internet. Why go to a sex shop when you can download them at DVD quality from your computer + cheaper, in the warm ? Look at any of the major US porn producer and they all offer their DVD's in downloadable form, sometimes even before they are released physically on DVD. The "bog" standard 5 scence porn DVD in physical form will soon be at an end. Companies will have to offer more to tempt people to buy a physical DVD such as extra matterial, special features.

I'd doubt it but having said that it will most likely get a lot worse due to the increased take-up of broadband/cable and the ever increasing download speeds being offered

Already a few that i've come upon are so large you need an army of searchers to find something specific which has always been their major weakness IMHO

Boil it right down and its time versus money and the illusion of getting something for free

Any fool that thinks he's getting it for free should have a computer technician clean his machine.The best anti-virus software around doesn't locate 5/10 percent of viruses.Not everyone who shares on pirate sites is a punter with good intentions.Food for thought

Welcome to the world of the internet! It's not just us, what about all the record companies and fiilm producers, who spend millions on their products only to have them shared for free.

Luckily for us, there are consumers out their who do not wish to download from bit-torrent sites. These people are not "porn junkies", who have to feed their addiction by down-loading everything they can find for free.

These consumers also don't want to run the risk of downloading viruses, spy ware, root kits and all sorts of other shit you get from these sites. They are also fussy about what they watch.

So, no, I don't think that these sites are necessarily a threat, they are merely diverting away, the people I don't want anyway, ie, porn locusts, porn junkies, charge-back timewasters and moaners!
