help with STD/HIV testing in Glasgow

I'm booking a model who lives in Glasgow and doesn't know where to go to get tested for STD/HIV. And, er, neither do I. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Your best bet would be the sandyford centre on sauchiehall street, make an appointement or go to the drop-in before half nine. hope it helps.

Excellent, RoadKill, thanks for that. After an initial disaster with the Sandyford Centre (conflicting info) we've managed to touch base with a great doctor there who's spoken directly with my model and booked her appointment, despite the model being told beforehand that she couldn't get one for a month, then turning up at the walk-in and finding that 40 people were ahead of her in the queue. Talk about a bottleneck. What's more, a doctor who I was put through to at the Nuffield (price for private STD/HIV = 350 quid), and who very kindly helped set up a direct line to the aforementioned helpful doctor, actually phoned me back afterwards to suggest that the paltry service offered to adult performers in Glasgow really needs to be addressed and that in conjunction with the Sandyford he's going to try to set something up that bypasses the 8.30-10.30 drop-in clinic.

Andy it's a nightmare.They generally do not understand the concept of a full sexual screening with written certificates.The Sandyford in the city centre where actually very rude to me.If you go to them or the model does she should just be honest and upfront about it.They make such a big deal about a certificate which all the Gum clinics in England are fine about it.I have used many in London which is ridiculous as I stay in Glasgow.

Just read your other thread.Glad to see you got sorted although you will be going private through the Nuttfield.I agree with you there is a serious issue here with the attitude of certain doctors at the Sandyford in Glasgow city centre.I know the adult film/video industry really is tiny compared to England.We are living in 2008 and many health care professionals should waken up and stop being so bloody childish.I have put threads on here before about them.I should contact them direct as they should address the issue.

Happychappy, the doctor who the model is seeing tomorrow -- and who she spoke with on the phone -- has a Wednesday clinic at the Sandyford and could not have been more kind and helpful. It was she who I was put into direct contact with by the very helpful doctor at the Nuffield when I told him that there was no way we'd be able to afford #350 for the Nuffield tests. I'm glad to here some people at the Sandford at helpful.I had such an awful experience,partly my fault for not being upfront at the start.I will email.Best wishes.

I found them not bad to deal with (once you finally get to see them that is) again as it has been mentioned that it probably helped and told them right out what the problem was. are they doing certificates now, all they would give me was a text message :s
