We're considering some changes and don't know whether to go more for naughty with toys etc or stay cute and cuddly?

Oh dear, it's such a shame when these girls don't have any clothes to wear... I agree with Joe King - the samples do seem to be below average quality.
Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Hi guys.
The samples are from a set that I back-lit for deliberate effect.
I used a small fill-in flash at the front but set low so that it simply triggered the 'slave' on the studio-flash in the rear.
I was just going for something different and a distant rear flash will often give a hazy feel to the finish (just like in a sunny, late-afternoon shoot in a field) because the light captures the particles in the air rather than blanking them out.
In the filed you can see particles like pollen and indoors you see the dust!
Oh yes, I seem to remember that I upped the ISO too.
I would say not below average - simply a different style of image. A more real representation with better colour saturation and skin-tone.
