With reference to the new bill passed this week in the UK (http://uk.news.yahoo.com/14/20090123/tp ... c5b50.html) we're interested in hearing from any producers wishing to publish their products via DVD or streaming.

We have an established online store selling fetish and hard BDSM plus we have plans to launch a streaming website dedicated to fetish and BDSM.

We already provide editing and DVD services and publish several fetish and BDSM producers and are eager to add to that list.

We're based in the Netherlands with servers located outside the UK so legality is not a problem.

You seem to have misunderstood the new law. This doesn't criminalise producers of "extreme material", it criminalises people who watch/own the material!

Producers have long been criminalised by the existing Obscene Publications Act.

Therefore selling the content from Amsterdam makes no difference, as the new law is targeted at the user rather than the producer.

However, based on an article today, the police aren't going to actively enforce this daft law anyway... which makes you wonder what all the fuss was about.

I took my interpretation from the Home Office's website..but maybe the Guardian knows more about the matter.

Two of my publishers were prosecuted way back in the early nineties for possession and publication of my artwork so I fully understand the draconian nature of the UK's obscenity laws.

If you believe the police aren't going to enforce the law then sleep in peace but the fact is they can and probably will enforce the law when and if they want to.

This reminds me of my time in the States when Ashcroft was gunning for the adult industry. The law only needs a big stick to wave at you..they don't need to use it. But they can. Now the UK police have a big stick - jail time.

But maybe this post isn't aimed at you.

I don't know if you know any of our products......

I'm no expert but as far as I understand it, JB is right.

As producers we have been liable for quite a while...the new law targets individuals who PURCHASE it.

A great scaremongering tactic and it will be interesting to see it in operation...

I appreciate your post on here is to sell your idea, it's a promotions forum after all, however I do thinks it's worth getting your facts right instead of "doing a Murdoch!".

As I say, I'm no expert so I'm sure I'll be shot down in flames....

This bill was only rushed through because some nutter killed a woman and put her in the wardrobe or something. The knee jerk reaction to this is that anyone who has extreme porn in their collection is a potential psychotic waiting to happen so the law is there to get them in prison before they actually commit a serious crime because of their viewing habits.

I guess those same said people behind this bill dont see that it can also be a cathartic thing that its use is in fantasy so that the viewer doesnt have to engage in it.

The kind of people that will follow up with rape and murder is usually a small percentage who probably wouldve done it without the porn anyway.

In other words, nick everyone and get them 3 years in prison before they do something that will get them a life sentence.

Theres some daft logic in that. LOL

Until the puritans get that banned as well of course. Laws like this one are brought in by people who never got over the legalisation of general porn back in 2000. I fear the worst is yet to come.

As some of you know, I have had several legal battles with Charing X nick and it all boils down to how busy they are at any given time.
The porn squad, which also covers working girls etc, is a wonderful sinecure posting for any old bill and as long as they justify their existence over the 2 year period, everyone is happy. They only have to nick people; the Court decides on guilt............

The BDSM community have gone mad over this and blown it way out of proportion IMHO. All news broadcasts I have seen so far regarding this matter have been regarding 'extreme' violent porn against women.
If they are going to police a law banning possion or production of femdom / bdsm, or similar...when are they going to start closing down all the UK dungeons? It is afterall technically illegal to practice anything sado masochistic in the UK.
Personally I'll continue to produce ballbusting and femdom videos without too much worry. I prefer to have my servers in the US and will continue to do so until they come up with some stupid law over there to warrant a move.

It's unfortunate that many naiive (or at least lets hope) guys are destroying hard drives containing femdom material in fear of being convicted of a sex crime!!!

Of course I could be wrong, but that's my logic and I'm sticking with it for now.
