Hi,
On the occasions that I have had shoots cancelled on short notice such as within 24 hours, I have been paid half what my fee would have been.
There have been times where I have turned up on the day ready to work only for the shoot to not go ahead. On those occasions, I have been paid what my full rate would have been for the day.

Re: Cancellation fees - what do you think?
I'm neither a tog nor model, but your suggestion reflects what generally happens in the "real" world as a standard element of contracts. It may be inappropriate or unworkable in this business though - you will know the answer to that better than me.
I suspect it would only be fair to have the fee applied both ways though so it could prove a double edged sword for unreliable models (I am not suggesting you are one - I am sure you are lovely and all that). Further, actually collecting any such fee could be met with variable degrees of success unless there is a porn "ethical and prompt payment code" of which I am unaware!?
The size of the fee could depend on the circumstances, eg history between the parties, validity of reason for cancellation. It depends if you simply want it as a token/incentive not to cancel or see it more as a way to recoup lost earnings (eg from bookings you've turned down that day).

Only cancelled one shoot every and paid the full shoot fee straight into the model's bank.
Re: Cancellation fees - what do you think?
Kill fees were always standard in the pre-internet days, before it was 'everything for free'.
Just make up a list of what you expect and make sure the producers is clear about your terms when booking you.
You could have;
1 day or less notice (or no notice) 100% fee due
2-3 days 50% fee due
3-7 days 25% fee due
Just work it out to what you think is reasonable to cover your own circumstances, and be prepared to work to the same conditions yourself.

We have need of you again, great king.

This was 2 "pro" outfits, and one amatuer......... That people DO pay fees/re imburse Models, SAYS ALOT about them! Sarah Kelly xxx Both ,New(ish) and Dissapointed x

The only way you shouldnt get paid for a cancelled shoot is if the shoot is cancelled because of your fault, eg if you turned up and had forgotten your certs. If the shoot is being cancelled because through fault of the company or other performers, then why should you lose money?
