Not illegal but immoral - these folk know what they are doing.....

Remember the guy that went round the country stopping at each and every route 66 pub and suing them for unlawful use of a trademark - hed trademarked route 66 and then went after all the places that used that name - made a forture so he did

Yep the same Chav site did the same to another model I know.

The lesson for anyone getting into the business is register your domains pronto even if you don't intend to use them. It's cheap to register and park domains.

Sorry to hear it happened to you too Paige,

Good advice Ron !thumbsup!

You would need to take legal advice on this but I believe it is also possible to register your work/model name as a "Trademark" giving you legal recourse should anyone else use it in any manner?
Whether this is financially viable I wouldn't know and, as I said earlier, you would need to take legal advice.

"a chav site", hmmm wonder who that could be.... haha.

Yeah im not sure on the legal standing point, but its more just immoral than anything else.

Heard about people doing it with celebrities names, then making the celebs pay a fortune for them to buy the domain back from them.

You tried alternatives like "Paige-Fox.com" or "PaigeFoxOfficial.com"? (I hope im not just giving these chav site people ammo now :(

Actually paigefox.com is me. Nothing malicious, just something I set up as an affiliate promoting sites you are on as the domain name was not taken.
http://www.paigefox.com/

If you'd like the domain Paige then mail me at morph@morphettes.com and we can sort something out.

We own Paigefox.co.uk, we don't own paigefox.com.

It's normal for webmasters to register the domain names of models. If I didn't register that domain and affiliate would have and sent the traffic else where, just like an affiliate registered the .com version and sent the traffic to other sites.

I would of registered .com as well, but it had already gone.

Paige is a nice girl, if she would of just sent me an email asking for the domain, I would of transfered it, no questions asked.

Also, if you need to find out who owns what domain etc... Usually the information is freely available from the WhoIs database. The onyl way it wont show their contact information is if they have paid to opt out.

So you can find there email address and always ask them nicely i guess
