Okay porn fans and porn pros, this is no doubt a question that comes up quite a lot. Of course it is relative too, but ideally, what running times do most people think a scene should be? Blowjob. What, max 15 minutes? Boy/girl between 20-25 minutes? Should you take a little longer if it involves anal?
I'm starting to edit my own stuff and would appreciate the in-put.

All sounds about right... I would say boy girl could be longer... I seen a lot of 30-40 min scenes... which probably means they shoot a lot more content than the 30-40 mins that end up being used...

I recall an interview with Annette Haven many years ago when she described one film and she said that it took nearly 5 hours to shoot an anal scene. Which when edited was 25 minutes. I saw Bev Cocks being ass fucked by Omar and the wall clock showed nearly 40 minutes of ass fucking. Must have been broked down into 3 or 4 seperate scenes over that period. A girl I knew who was a porn actress reakoned that most of the anal scenes she was in took about 15-30 minutes.
I suppose it depends on the bloke and how long he can keep it up without "shooting"

5 hours to do an anal scene????

I cant imagine a producer knowing what the hell he is doing if he takes 5 hours to film just an anal scene and I would expect the models to be on a premium rate for working that long on a specific act.

The only "producer" that takes 5hrs to shoot ANY 20-30 mins scene is a blagger using someone else's money.

I shot an award winning anal scene featuring Lolly Badcock & Lee Henshaw that edited down to around 26 minutes. Raw footage was 30 minutes.

This is not me trying to sound like a smart arse, simply someone using his own money and two performers who know their craft.

Thanks everybody. Nice to know I am not the only one who remembers Annette Haven and to hear a few kind words for male performers. One Eyed Jack is right about the time taken to shoot by high end producers as opposed to us lesser mortals. It is good to have lots of footage to play with when editing, of course but it has to be paid for. I was thinking that anal might want a slightly longer scene because it is yet another act to perform, shoot and view. Not just more fucking in a new hole, though I have seen it given no ceremony, as it were, and just got on with. Bit of a waste, really. But then, it isn't the big deal it was when I was young and Annette Haven was still working. Ah, film, hot lights falling on your ass, the mob putting up most of the money... Those were the days?
