AVI movies HELP

Iv downloaded a load of avi files onto my mac but cant play them. What do I need to do. I am using quicktime and have converted them to mov files but all I get is sound!!

Sounds like a codec issue but then I have a PC and none of that Mac bollocks.
You should be able play avi files without any problem!

Download Windows Media Player.
I'm sure theres a mac version or some other basic mpeg/avi player.

Check www.downloads.com for mac avi players!

Sounds like you the DIVX codec.

Most AVI files will not play with QT, as they are compressed with a codec that QTime will not recognise. Previous suggestions to download WMPlayer might not make you happy but most of us PC people have QTR, WMP and perhaps RealPlayer as well.

I am not to up on QT but there will be a codec that you can download with will help you.
