In fact you could say if it weren't for our juvenile o/t humoress/humorless behaviour this o/t forum probably wouldn't exist?

I actually recall leaving at least twice back then returning a week or so later

Yeah I remember the tantrum where we both left (temporarily) but I cant remember what it was about. Was it over me, you and JJ being persecuted by some occasional posters who never post these days? They said our jokes were overbearing. JJ left the forum for a few months due to personal problems at about the same time and I started getting emails from people demanding to know where he was and if I had buried him in my cellar.

I think it might have been that time when my local TV transmitter went down during Auf Weidersehen Pet and I asked if anyone had taped it. I got deleted for asking for copies of broadcast material but yet when I contacted the BBC they said "why dont you see if theres anyone you know in another region who taped it and get a copy off them. In the meanwhile we might schedule a repeat but cant promise". Which would seem to imply that the BBC regard people copying their stuff as no big deal as long as its not for financial gain. Seems the Beeb are less uptight than the moderator who perpertrated such a wicked deletion. :-)I am sure the moderator concerned was acting with the best intentions of course.

Buttsie, of course I dont want the power to delete. There is only room for one wannabe mod round here and it aint me. In anycase deletions are needed less often these days as we louts are learning to moderate our own prose prior to inflicting it on the forumite hoardes.

What was it all about?

Posting full of alcohol in a nutshell which basically meant we were all one snag short of a barbecue when it came to thinking logically but to be fair we were very creative

Then JJ fell down his black hole for a couple of months
Personally I think he was trialling with a local Monastery but it didn't work out...would explain his silence perfectly
