I'm not against Americans per se, but I believe Bush represents all that's bad about USA. He is stupid, greedy and probably psychotic too.
His simplistic view of the world 'the goodies' (UK we hope), and 'the baddies' (rest of the world possibly) - justifies the stereotypical view of Americans that they are an uncultured, violent, paranoid and dumb nation.
The USA can say oh well we helped save you from the two world wars and yes they did and we are grateful. But whereas Europeans learned the futility and true horror of war, the Americans have not. We understand the true value of life.

Re: on Northern Ireland...
Okay, Bimmercat. Take the situation in Northern Ireland and multiply it by ten, and you have the Middle East. The one thing that's kept Israel from being blasted into nothingness is the fact that the Arab world is split into factions, each with its own agenda. Give them a common cause to unite upon, let's say the allied/coalition forces remaining in Iraq longer than necessary and perhaps making money out of the country's resources while its citizens are doing without, and you hand it to them on a plate.
Most Americans I know or have spoken to do not blindly follow the likes of Dubya, nor are they the dumb hicks the rest of the world often thinks they are. With three or maybe four exceptions, the US hasn't had the leaders it deserves. The military seems even worse: the poor soldier on the ground getting shot at while career officers posture or make a play for position. A
major problem lies is in there being little reported opposition to America's actions within the US, and that makes us believe you are blindly going on with what the Prez says.
I don't think your leaders or ours have come out of this war with any credit. But that is no reason to criticise the people of either nation or the troops who were ordered to do a job. The fault, as ever, lies further up the chain of command.

Re: US Foreign Policy
I agree, Bush and his administration is to blame and Blair as well.
But I also criticise a large proportion of the American people for believeing everthing that is spouted out of that cowboys mouth. And when someone publicly criticises Bush or his bunch, they are shamefully accused of being unpatriotic or slandered and slurred in some other way by the public and media. Where is the freedom of speech?
And how about some objective critical journalism? From what I hear 'Fox News' is about as unbiased as saddams own tv station. Why do people watch it?
I like Michael Moore and I like Bill Clinton, I look forward to the time when decent, intelligent, caring Americans are represented again.

Re: the UN is worthless!
The UN run by Communists....really. Bimmercat, you are a political ignoramus. It's a waste of my time conducting a debate with you.
