Its also amazing how much women spend on Cosmetics , and how this billion dollar industry keeps creating new gunk to make women look younger! is there no dignity in growing old any more ? bring back the old Crone look I say .

but really I just keep thinking about the poor beagle dogs who have to be made up every day untill their little eyes bleed , still at least they get to stay in a nice little cage untill they die ! two weeks later.

The inverted sizeism of French's snide comment points to something more: even attempting balance we still judge people on how they look (and you look more Jenny Saville than Rubens to me, sweetie darling). And though I would agree 'judge' as too harsh, I would also agree that they do say something about us in that they send out a message to others - how could they not. We all do it, we all know it, and controlling that message is perhaps where it lies. The catwalk model and the spitting yob in the tracksuit both want to and make us think of things - often opposing, as do the clothes you're wearing right now.

Fashion, even high fashion (from which much fashion filters) will always be too big and hold too much social/historic importance to be so easily dismissed. What will you be wearing tomorrow? Climate/public decency aside, why?
