A brilliant piece, magoo. The sheer hypocrisy surrounding this person astounds, even on this forum. Hands up all those who thought the bloke who played Len Fairclough was worthy of said sympathy and support.

We are spellbound as a society to celebrity no matter what or who they are ; we seem to think special treatment necessary. Well Jackson certainly needs treatment. Some seem to argue that he ain't done anything so that's alright. But he's admitted he likes to share his bedroom with little kids.

And of course these kids and their parents are out to leech him ; that's the nature of fame and money. My disbelief is why he continued to be with kids after the cases of a few years ago.

Can't someone tell him he's sick ? Does all his money mean that the Hangers-on haven't got the guts to tell him to stop ? That it's not the right and proper thing to do ? He's supposed to be a father himself !

Who here would be happy to let their kids stay in the bedroom of some bloke around the corner from them ?

Yes, fame ought to be no protection from the Law.
But as I understand it, Magoo was arguing that you could at least partially eliminate 'nonces' (what a wealth of meaning in that word !) by attempting to address the root causes of the behaviour. Abusers are usually themselves victims of abuse.
Paedophiles are MADE, not born: while they may eventually be criminally culpable (or 'evil' if you subscribe to a religious interpretation) they are not initially so, being as they are mentally ill.
Like drug addicts, they need treatment, in an environment where they pose no threat to Society.

Agreed, although what needs to be ascertained is whether the paedophilia is but one branch of the tree. His munchausen tendencies and actual self-harm/mutilation-by-surgery are both well documented, as I imagine you know.

yeh i liked ur post magoo, but the difference is we dont know a damn thing about the sleazy paedo at the end of the road who looks a bit dodgy. On the other hand the world has watched Michael jackson grow up and the issues that have come from his career that have led him towards the sad state he is in now and thus i think its easier to see how he became so fucked up. no one else has had his level of success as a child and then somehow surpassed it as an adult, its pretty unheard of....but there we go...i dont reckon he does do anything sexual tho because in the bashir interview he was talking about it freely - dont u think he would just say nothing ever happens rather than raise ppls suspiscions? ok so hes a big child - hes not stupid tho. maybe im grasping at straws but i think something could be said for that
