That rings a bell, my ticket says '+ support' and no mention of the support in my programme either.
I have seen some fucking dire support bands in my time, and I do mean fucking dire

finally...someone mentions Jimi.
Re: 4 chords
lol ace yeh we can and ive found we normally do about music and guitaring - and i dont ever get aong with guitarists because i just wanna shut myself away from them all pretend they dont exist and try and do my own thing lol....u asked this once before - i only have an acoustic and a shit strat because i play and write/practise writing completely by ear so i dont really go in for the expensive equipment kinda thing - i dont really think of myself as a guitarist cos i dont know the technical stuff but i hope one day ill be able to consider myself a writer - what guitars do u have? did u / do u write ?

bimmercat i dont really agree with you at all concerning grunge because i dont think we are agreed on what it is...ok so Alice in Chains sound a bit depressing but no one can deny what a beautiful and special voice Layne Staley had. the made great albums, superbly consistent riffs and were in my opinion great. their "downer" lyrics were about drugs so ill give u that
i dont consider Soundgarden really downer at all....they are very much how i would describe myself i spose - bit unimpressed by everything but not downer. Chris Cornell is my all time fav singer - NO ONE can deny that as a good voice come on! i always describe his voice as being able to "fill a church" and thats a pretty good description.
then we get to pearl jam - the guy who Creed singer (and everyone else) is copying with that kinda biting ur teeth as u sing method. nirvana -well weve covered them...
overall i wouldnt say the lyrics are THAT down just the overall mood of seattle in the late 80s and 90s was pretty bad wasnt it ...lots of coffee and heroin floating about, lots of rain and dead friends etc...
those are the main seattle grunge bands but i think we are getting confused wtih new grunge as it were......
i do agree with ur comments on modern rock tho because i dont think ppl will listen to it in the same way - mainly because this generation arent doing nething new or to the standard of the seattle lads. but as much as i dislike kid rock and limp bizkit - they were both doing it from the start u kno...its a shit guitar sound but its tru - they arent bandwagon jumpers.
i personally believe rock peaked bwettn 1987 and 1994..... around 1991 as prob the best...soo many great albums....metallica, soundgarden, faith no more, nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, guns n roses the list goes on....and aside from rock ...the bay area punk seen was kicking off nicely...thrash was doing ok but soon to die etc i dont ever know what im typing ne more
