I think Sweden?s middleclass hand wringers are deluding themselves (as they do in many other western countries).

There?s a large constituency of high class escorts and hookers out there who you never see on the street - that beautiful, immaculately groomed lady with the executive type in the hotel lobby may not in fact be a P.A. or secretary. The quite lady down the end of Acacia Avenue with her regular males visitors, may be more than the repectable divorcee she seems. These sorts of high-class hookers tend to enjoy their work (both the sex and the social side) and are very happy with their higher than average earnings. They would not take kindly to some deluded, dogmatic, poncy middleclass twats, interfering in their business to protect them from 'exploitative men'.

Then there are the street girls ? the reason they are on the street is that they are stupid, low class, druggies, who are incapable of holding even a shelf stacking job down. They don't want "to get out" either. Because they are not going to be able to do, want to do or even be able hold down an ordinary 9-5 job. And also, a lowly 9-5 job will certainly not fund their drug habits.

Back to the original post: The reason why it is ok to see hardcore pics in mags and not dvd/videos is simply because there is no governing body censoring mags like the BBFC does vids. Tecnically, the distributors od magazines showing anal and other extreme sexual activities can be prosecuted...Its just a matter of time before someone actually does anything about it I suppose....Not unless some mum somewhere catches little Timmy reaching for the Beano accidentally picking up Bum Bashers Monthly and complains loud enough tothe right people that is.

Well i agree OEJ but im not saying that hardcore mags should be banned from newsagents im just pointing out that if the mags are tolerated then why not hardcore films and as stated before just tone down the images on the sleeves and cleary mark them R18 then why should newsagents not be allowed to sell them after all newsagents can be prosecuted for selling the mags to under 18s and the same would apply to the R18s.
