All recent reports seem to indicate that Vista has been designed with one purpose in mind,to make people upgrade to a new computer

The trend started with XP for mine

A techy friend of mine said recently

"even if Vista was head and shoulders above its competitors theres still the impending issue of what the hackers will do to it"

Just remember the fun some of those XP patches produced!!!!!!

Buyer beware

cheers

So it's more secure is it?

"Microsoft has admitted that speech recognition features in Vista could be hijacked so that a PC tells itself to delete files or folders....."

"Microsoft said the exploit was "technically possible" but there was no need to worry."

Micro$oft say 'possible', surely they mean 'probable', and no need to worry...really?

But on the OTHER hand... if you're a true geek, you won't be able to resist. Admit it, you want an animated 3d interface, don't you? So you'll install it and then cry for days when you lose your photo collection.

Interesting to note that Apple's reaction to the Vista launch is to put out one of the most piss-poor, ill-conceived ad campaigns imaginable.

(in the next ad PC wanders off to the pub whilst Mac pulls out a rifle and aims it squarely at his own foot).

"Let's do it..."
