Hey Blue

Thanks chap.

Like so many of the posts here there are so many things I would like to say,but due to illness I have not got the energy and cant think straight at the moment.

But your un flinching honesty in that post was truelly moving and very thought provoking.

Thankyou Blue

what i would do (and have done) in your situation is make some sort of aknowledement (sp) if they are blockng a shop doorway say 'excuse me lads/ladies' and a smile and 'alright boys' goes a long way if its ppl you see often...

i recently had 9 work experience kids (15 yrs old) for 2 weeks and was dreading it... at the end i thought it went well then today got letters from them saying they had an enjoyable time and to say thanks... made my day!!! :)

Some teens are great... some are arseholes... i have been screwed up and called names by young girls.... twats come in all ages..

BB im usually not far from here (same as the other reprobates) and do a good line in chatting bollocks...

I think the difference thesedays is that 20 years ago, when I was in my late teens, I would have been shit scared to do anything beyond stand up for myself if an older adult gave me serious grief. I was brought up to respect authority as a boy and consequently stayed out of trouble, pretty much, and didn't ever go looking for it.

Thesedays you don't know what some little turd has got in his jacket. When I was a youth, the most I would have had in there was a packet of three (unused for about three years !wink!)

At the end of the day, BB, you sound quite streetwise, so you know how they think and what they react to- so just act accordingly.

I have similar thoughts, and IMO the kids are more dangerous these days- especially in Glasgow, where the a lot of these wee cowardly ned fuckers carry a blade.

You acquire an 'eye' for this type- up here, they tend to prey on nightclub pissards who are on their lonesome. As for gangs of them, walk with your head held high as mentioned- these hyenas can detect fear quickly. So, even though you might not feel secure inwardly, the body language of a 'hard-looking' confident six-foot, 16st, broad Beeston of a lad will send the right message: 'stay away', or 'I'm well tidy'.

After all, these cowards like an easy target- even at that, even when their quarry is drunk, he has to be outnumbered at least 4 to 1.

However, this old paradigm applies: ONLY if you go looking for trouble, you'll get it. As, like myself I'm sure, you are not the confrontational type who looks for agro you will have no problem.

So you're fine.

I am gonna pop in my 2 cents, & apologize if it offends anyone.
I think it is interesting that I have never had a similar experience, living here in the violent, degenerate U.S.. I wonder if jaxxon has had?? Then again, I don't live in or go downtown, so what happens there, I ken not.
Nothing to be done about it I suppose, but a sociologist might say you folks are too crowded.
