My fave Petshopboys track

Has an amazingly positive vibe... Never mind the gay sub context...
To me it just says anything is possible... :)

From what I remember, I found the PSB very similar to the Stock Aitken & Waterman "sound", which I truly hated. Whatever they made with whoever was involved, in my ears it was all the same rubbish.

From an '80's electro point of view (you can wipe out the "pop" word for this example):
Meat Beat Manifesto anyone?
I did see them once. They blew my balls to the wall for 45 very, very intense minutes.

I have only heard 'Quiet Life' by Japan and enjoyed it.......

.....so as you are an aficionado, name me their best album so I can buy it and give it a whizz.

Cheers, my man.

I have to concur with the Kraftwerk comment, I do think they were the forefathers of electro. You will notice the early electro guys, especially Numan, trying to emulate the cold, robotic, emotionless style of Kraftwerk, the 'empty' style of vocal' etc. Kraftwerk were superb, I love their stuff.
