Indulgent, horribly unfunny, sometimes even unreadable, and in no way deserving of Ralph Steadman's marvellous illustrations. I imagine many simply wouldn't bother were it not for them.

Ralph Steadman was a great friend - a true friend- of Hunter S Thompson.

Self isn't fit- or capable- of lacing Thompson's drinks.
