"Harriet Harman, as a feminist, believes that prostitution is "violence against women"
And she also believes that very same thing as a snotty, arrogant, middleclass person with pretensions of social concern, don't forget, Mike. Now that Patricia Hewitt has faded into the background Harriet Harman is quite the snottiest high profile woman in the Labour Party. Even Gordon can't stand her, but has to put up with her to give the impression to all those terribly earnest and privileged young middleclass folk - who account for most of the party?s constituency workers and Labour backbenchers - that he's paying due regard to 'wimmin's ishooos'.
Let's not forget that ideologically the silly fuckers of the Labour Party (especially 'wimmin' members) have serious problems with sex. Sex is the elephant in the room, sex is basically about difference, the undeniable biological difference between men and women and their differing socio-biological roles. But of course difference is anathema to socialists. Difference means being greater or lesser, bigger or smaller, faster or slower. Difference equals inequality, and their mission is to make us all appear the same (yes even men and women). To this end they enact laws in an effort to iron over the yawning chasms of difference and ability. This is why they have floated this shitty totalitarian idea to suppress the commercial area of heterosexuality by leaning on men ('wimmin' are victims of course) and thus help dissipate the awkward fact that women are simply here to seduce the men with the biggest spears (or wads) with their charms and then have babies, period. While men are here to get on with their different primeval aims of hunter gathering, bigging themselves up, and then, hopefully, getting to shag even more women.
"In a free country people should be able to do what they like with their own bodies"
To right, Mike. But it seems that 'Big Sister' Harman has got other ideas. Don't forget that porno producers are 'buying? women for sex. It could even be argued that consumers of pornography (yes, you there) are buying women for sex. I therefore urge you all to tell Harriett and her poncy comrades, in the very plainest terms, to fuck off, while you still have a voice.

"Since it is on a main road I agree the outside signs and decor should give little indication of what goes on inside but beyond that what is the problem?"
The problem is gender politics, as I've outlined in another post.

Officer Dibble, do you seriously regard the labour party of today as socialist?

Re: A right to buy and sell sex
Of course. Though I expect many will have their own idea what socialism is - which could range from the full on Communist/SWP to the American Democrats. Gordon Brown's NuLabour Party fits somewhere in between. Shit, maybe even the Liberal Democrats as well.

Re: A right to buy and sell sex
Isn't Hillary Clinton keen on creating a system of universal Healthcare funded out of taxation? That sounds pretty socialist to me. A bit like Aneurin Bevan?s NHS, don'tcha think? Isn?t Hillary more sympathetic than yer average American to ?wimmin? blacks, immigrants and those on welfare? All pretty standard left of centre social concern stuff.
As I say, ask ten different people what socialism is and they?ll give you ten different answers.

yes dibble, that's a good point, but wether Hillary Clinton delivers a free health care system if she is elected is another matter.
