The Tories- to quote Macmillan- sold the family silver to fund their 18 years of hell in this country.
There is nothing more to sell- hence the Tories discover 'liberalism'.
If you wanted nice stable energy prices, Graham; you should have told your nice Tory friends to play fair and not sell things off. Bit late now to moan.

Re: Energy Prices
Actually he stated an increse and let everyone think it was a year on year thing... then it reverted back to the original level and they didnt publise that.
Ref: heat or eat documentary on the beeb a few days ago.
The problem is that every blody "stat" that is done; RPI, Infaltion, et. al. doesnt show the real issue.... which is that for the lowest paid, such as people on benefits, state pension, low incomes, the basic nesesities such as gas, lecki, bread, milk, meat, vegtables have increased in cost significently in the past few years... bread at tescos in ilkeston has gone from 89p to 99p since x-mass... not a huge increase to many, but for people on the lowest level its huge, value mince has increased 80p since xmass, gas/lecki up 30%
Maybe pennies to a lot... but when you're getting 57 quid a week to live on and 5 quid is gas, 5 is leki, 5 is water then try to budget whats left for food and clotheswhen the basic necesities goes up by a couple of quid a week.
When i was a lad and left school for my first "benefit" adventure I got 50 quid a week... that was back in 1985, now i'm on my second adventure I get 57 quid a week... so a 7 quid uplift in 23 years when wages and house prices have risen at such a rate that a 8K house now costs 350K+, basics like food and leki/gas have risen way more... if i had to have a guess, for the barest min for benefits (not people who play the system or work on the black market) should be about 120 a week...
Anyone who says that benefit scroungers, or lets not forget anyone who is on a state pension, is well off; is living in cloud cuckoo land! Its like the old sell of "wage setlements lower than inflation" like... well... eventually you're so much worse off as everything else has gone up!
But inflation doesnt take into account the basic cost of living, neither does any blody figure... on a crap wage, petrol goes up 2p a lita (remember when it was by gallon... people would have walked out if it had gone up by more than 3p a gallon, now as its lita they can up it and we dont think "shit thats nearly 20p a gallon increase") so for the cleaner his costs are through the roof with petrol and basic necessities... while fat cat cunts in convernment get 60K and unlimited expenses that they dont even need receipts for....
Also while I'm winging... how come when I was working I only got 7p a mile expences allowed by the IR (before it was concidered taxable "earnings") yet 2 jags was claiming ?3.20, they are all fucking wankers and if i wasnt so screwed finantially that I cant even move to some eastern european province (cos they dont like doleits so export them to the UK) I'd ship out to some other country where at least they are proud to be who they are and realise that they can milk the UK for every blody penny be that by exporting labour to send money back home, or foriegn companies who charge way more for "UK" supply than they do in their own countries.
This country is fucked... and the fuckers running it know that and are milking it to make sure they are the cream that rises.
Oh yeah... and schools... does anyone think labias ideals about getting rid of grammer schools is anything else but making sure that everyone is less educated than themselves so that the great unwashed dont have the brains to say "fuck you you cunts, We've realised you're screwing us" and rebel, while making sure their kids go to private or "faith" schools.
Oh well......

The only difference between erotic art and porn is how much you can charge for it... 3.99 a mag its porn; 399 a print, its art!
If you hang it on a wall... would the Rev. faint or comment on it; if the former its Porn :-P

Re: Energy Prices
A long and meandering essay that I am sure others will want to critique.
One point to address here- 'This country is fucked'.
Well, now. Who does Alex Salmond want to win the next General Election? The Tories, of course! Then, he can win an independence referendum- particularly if the Tories get a second term of office- and fuck off with our oil, some gas, the main gas storage areas and most importantly of all, our independent nuclear defence facilities.
And I haven't even mentioned the Welsh, who might just fuck off in 30 years and charge what they want for water to England. What will one million pounds buy? A million gallons? A thousand gallons? One gallon?
Welcome to the free market, kids. And a knowledge that the Tories contain within themselves not only the keys to their destruction- but to ours as well.

Warren i voted Labour in the 1997 general election so i have every right to criticise them and call them wankers, dictators and piss takers as they have done very few of the things that they promised to do but have done loads that they never mentioned before coming to power.
As for giving pensioners a few extra quid winter fuel allowance thats fine and i would become a fan of Gordon Brown if he sorted out the price fixing within the utilities as it is these sky rocketing bills that are crippling everyone, and no one on this forum has yet given a good reason why the French pay less than half of what we do for electricity other than profiteering so why does G.B. allow this to continue.
Also remember that electricity is transferred at peak times between England and France and vice versa therefore the price difference can have nothing to do with the generating cost and questions need to be asked in the house at PMs question time !sad!

Well that wont work because if we use less energy the utilities will simply increase their charges to maintain their profits, the more we use the more they make, so if you want to save the planet by using less energy then the utilities should be returned to the public sector but that will never happen as we dont have a labour goverment just a load of oddballs headed by a Dictator with his head up his arse !sad!

You can have a reduction in your monthly BT bill if you opt for the non-paper method of payment.

Well the fact is we didnt have a choice on who leads our country as Gordon Brown was enforced upon us we didnt vote for him to be our leader and he has no mandate to be PM therefore he is a dictator, if he believes in democracy he would call an election and let the people decide if we want him to lead us, and for the record Warren i have never voted Conservative always Labour but come the next election im going with the Tories.
