I like the hold-ups over the full stocking/suspenders thing these days.

It's the shoes that are important as well. A bird in stockings/hold-ups but no heels/scuffed up shoes with the price sticker still visible underneath just looks real tacky.

Basically good quality / metal clasps / 6 as opposed to 4 straps = very comfortable and no hassle. Cheap tat from down the market or your local Ann Summers = major discomfort and bad fit.
