I think that most ordinary folk would call 70,000 a YEAR "decent", Bob. And 100 grand a year "very decent indeed".
Never mind twice that a WEEK.
Can these greedy cunts never get enough? How many millions do they need? How many fucking Ferraris and 12-bedroom mansions with snooker rooms and tennis courts?
I don't begrudge anyone a decent wedge for good, honest graft. Even footballers. And yes, those at the very top of their profession (any profession) should get a "very" decent whack.
But footballers' wages have just gone silly now to the point of crass obscenity. Yes you can argue "market forces" / "supply and demand" or whatever - but it's still fucking obscene.
Personally I think that the Bosman ruling was one of the worst things to happen to football, as it kick-started the greed culture that's now firmly taken over the game.

I wholeheartedly agree... to a certain extent there is the market forces argument .
I also agree that the Bosman ruling, while laudable in allowing a player who was being kept at a club against his wishes, has caused, allied with the vasts sums of money paid by Sky and others for TV rights, a culture of greed unparalleled in football history.
