Most sexual abuse does indeed occur within the famiiy. But your idea is stupid. Families (good or bad, sober or drunken) make us who we are. So abolish the family? We can then live like wild dogs savaging anyone we feel threatened by or dislike, with no sense of belonging to a group and no close emotional bonds to people. Even the cavemen would laugh at your notion that families are crap. Wether you believe in nature or God one thing is certain-We are here and our minds were designed by nature or god. So did God invent sexual abuse or did nature invent it? If its part of human nature then whos to blame?

I understand Marcus` point of view. But its changed in jail since Marcus was last a guest of Her Majesty. When I was a young tearaway and constantly in and out of police cells, courts, jails etc I too believed that nonces were the scum of the earth. Prison makes you like that. You feel your the lowest class of society so you look for an even lower class to pick on i.e, nonces and Rule 43 in general. Having said that I would quite cheerfully hang the likes of Suttclffe, Nielson, Brady, Hindley, Rose West etc. Trouble is it all gets confused. There was a bloke who was not a sex offender (nonce) who got transferred to the segregation wing (rule 43), he was having a nervous breakdown, and he was in for a two stretch for burglary. He was on Rule 43 because he was being bullied but he still got labelled as a nonce. He was found dead in his cell a week later. He couldnt take the pressure of being labelled for something he had not done.

This is another ststistic that gets quietly buried by the media because it doesn't fit in with their agenda.
At a rough guess, that would make the average journo with a family 19 times more likely to be a paedophile than that dodgy-looking bloke in the raincoat feeding the ducks.

I suspect Monsieur le Connoisseur was being 'un peu sarky', as the French so elegantly put it.
