Urgently Need New Laptop
Re: Urgently Need New Laptop
I know I'm getting what I'm paying for.I think the benefits outweigh the losses for me at the moment. The thing is if I do sell the laptop in future,I will have to be a bit choosy, and may take a bit less than normal if it's going to show a history of visiting disgustingly filthy sites like this.

If you're that worried about leaving traces of porn on your hard drive then download google chrome, which has an 'incognito' mode.
Better still, get yourself a cheap 1gig usb stick, download the portable version of Firefox onto it and view websites via the stick, leaving no trace whatsoever on your pc when you unplug it. You can carry it with you and use it on other pc's too so it's handy for having easy access to bookmarks, etc.

Yes. Firefox is totally free (if you didn't know, it's just a web browser, like IE, but more secure and customisable).
Portable apps has more than just a web browser if you need it.

Thanks Sam.So it's a case of plug in and save and open the firefox and go.I suppose I could save pics, info etc on the same memory stick,as in a documents folder for stuff from model sites etc? or would I be running another memory stick for such stuff,as to leave my normal laptop documents for stuff that I use normally, thanks

You can put what you want on it, space permitting. Just remember to have a back up of important stuff in case you lose it.
The website gives you instructions on what to do. Basically, download the app, get yourself the stick, plug in and run the app you downloaded.

Re: Urgently Need New Laptop
I find this site good for laptop deals (in fact all deals).
It is called HotUkDeals and anyone (you or I) can post any deal we think is good.
People can comment on it, and even click on a hot or cold button to make the deal "hot" or "cold".
If a lot of people click "hot" the temperature goes up and up and you can click on the "hot" tab (near the top) to see the hot deals.
Deals are added all the time, and some sell out very quickly, so it is best to monitor it a few times each day.
It is not just for computers but all deals, but the link below already has the "computer" topic selected
This tab has "all" selected in place of computers
The site is searchable, so you can put Laptop or Toshiba to find particular makes of laptop.
Sometimes misprices on web sites are posted and then you need to be VERY quick and order before the company notices. A few weeks ago a desktop PC was mispriced by Tesco on their site by about ?200 (it was a high spec PC) and quite a few people ordered one and got one before the stock ran out.

Re: Urgently Need New Laptop
Should mention about HotUkDeals that most of the deals are for new stuff from shops or web sites.
But some people also try to sell their own stuff second hand via this site.
If you just want to see the "deals" for new stuff then click on "deals" on the row near the top.
If you click on "new" on the row near the top you get everything: deals, second hand, chatter, competitions and so on.
Note you can also ask about deals, as you have done on this forum, just pres the "submit" button.
"Anyone know of any laptop deals" is posted quite often so suggest you do a search before asking the same question again.
