Never heard of that. Is it important, or something?

What iS it about GM? ALL their cars seem so bloody ugly.
Couldn't they hire Pininfarina for a week or two?

Yeah- but they used to leak a bit : -)
Thass why people from Cumbria all have 12 toes and marry their

The Tories, obviously.
A few well-run pits= survival; no mines = up shit creek.

Re: British Economy is Mainly Services
Sadly we are more dependant than ever on imports and not just from the far east where production cost are much lower.
Why for example is it economic to import chicken and pork from Germany?
Generally world relations with the main supplying countries are good now but if that changes we could be deep in the brown & smelly.
Also as we have found recently we are very vulnerable to changes in the pound / dollar and pound / euro exchange rates.
Very few of the skilled and semi-skilled manufacturing jobs lost in the last 10 years have been replaced with others.
Most factory sites are replaced with warehousing / distribution, offices, retail parks or housing.
