Global Freezing!
Re: Global Freezing!
I'm not familiar with this, as I am not a citizen of the British isles. True though, nuclear pollution is a problem, but considering the strain on the environment regarding energy production methods, properly handled nuclear waste is the smaller of two evils, if we are to compare it hypothetical models where the demand is met with pretty much coal alone (these two are pretty much the only things that can be even realistically considered to power entire nations).
For one, some poster above mentioned a russian innovation regarding cooling water and perhaps nuclear power efficiency can be increased through things like that, as water vapour is a serious problem when it comes to the greenhouse effect. Then theres of course waste disposal. All in all though, burning more and more coal to supply a demand that's constantly growing is a surefire way to failure.

Re: Global Freezing!
I see you've replied to others but not my simple question.
Did you forget or are you scared to answer?
For the 4th time: Why do you think you know that cars and power stations cause pollution?

Re: Global Freezing!
Oh, and eroticartist, you mentioned that the sun is the reason it gets hotter and colder and humans have little to do with anything. This is simply not true. While I'm not really here to debate the consequences of human action (or any kind of action except for thesun that is) when it comes to global warming, this is something that very rudimentary physics disproves.
Venus is a very good example of this, and it's also a good example of the greenhouse effect. Not making comparisons between the earth and venus, but surely it proves a thing or two regarding heat dissipation and atmosphere(s).

Ogre,
Thank you, so it seems that as nuclear power produces radio active waste that lasts thousands of years and coal as the alternative then the human race is still in a dilemma?
Also as the Earth is an ecosystem I should imagine that all these earthquakes and other natural disasters and so on is the Earth re-adjusting itself?

Re: Global Freezing! 32,000 scientistrs disagree
At a press conference on May 19, Arthur Robinson, Ph.D., announced the release of the names of 32,000 scientists who have signed a strongly worded petition dissenting from the alarmist assertions of Al Gore and the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Fears of catastrophic human-caused global warming, requiring draconian energy rationing, are the basis for policies supported by all three leading Presidential candidates: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain.
Al Gore claims that ?the debate is over,? and that there are only a ?few? remaining ?skeptics.?

You've been again and still refuse to answer such a simple question. I say 'refuse' now as it seems very probably you've not just forgotten.
I think we all know why you're ducking it (as those politicians you so often like to condemn do....irony isn't lost on you Mikey!); you can give no credible reason for believing one set of experts' opinions based on evidence (fossil fuel burning causes pollution) over another set of experts' opinions based on evidence (fossil fuel burning affects the global climate). No doubt if I looked hard enough I could find some discredited pseudo scientist that claims fossil fuels don't pollute the air we breath as well, and I think you realise that, hence sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting 'la!-la!-la!-la!-la!'.
That tin-foil hat may deflect all that radiation those ufos and lizard-people are blowing out but it does nothing to protect you from the beauty of logic, Mike.

No, not really. I'm glad though, that you display adamant opposition against greenhouse gases while apparently wishing to enforce their offset.
Also, what do your views on tectonic plates shifting have to do with well, anything? It sure has nothing to do with heat dissipation.

Re: Global Freezing!
Also, why is the amount of dissenting scientists important? Seems like the people who are willing to shout that global warming is a hoax perpetrated by a vocal majority, always wish to make up conspiracy theories regarding some sort of perverse socialist thinking while making sure of making statement that numbers do not count... while on the other hand the number of dissenters seems VERY important.
If you want to play the numbers game, it's a losing bet from the start since it's an overwhelming minority.

Ogre,
You are intransigent! Just disagree with all those dissenting scientists! Incidentally how many assenting scientists can you find?
