buttsie is right - for me ccbill have never caused a problem, never had one with ibill either - and I will use either with confidence.

BUT - there are rip-off sites and there are even honest mistakes so check your statements with this as with all else!

Well, read the thread and suprised.

I run sites and there is one golden rule.
Only join sites which have a cancel feature ( Globill being the best IMO).

Avoid sites which seem syndicated.. ie some of the US ones which have pop-up hell, this is a bad sign!

Getting blacklisted usually happmes to wkrs who join, download content then do a charge back... honest, I never joined, my son used my credit card etc.

If yr Bank declines the card any reputable website owner will get off his butt and email you... saying "Is there a problem?"
If yr card declined by yr Bank (This happens a lot with Delta type VISA vards) use a proper credit rather than debit card.

In short, being ripped-off is actually very rare - much rarer than webmasters being ripped off by punters with cable/ADSKL who join a site for $2.95 and sytematically strip a site with $30K or more of content and post it on newsgroups M8Y!! (Oh and then do a chargeback!)

That will continue too happen until individuals who strip sites
and post illegally are prosecuted in sufficient numbers to send the message....share if you must but don't post on the internet

Would there be any thing on alt.binaries if this happened?

I haven't read all the messages above, but I would be cautious about signing up to a website requiring a regular payment unless you have a personal recommendation from someone you trust. It's probably much easier to join these things than to get out of them.
